Thanks everyone for your comments on my first post. It really means a lot to be able to hear encouraging words from everyone. I looked into the bisphosphonates and still have to talk to kali’s vet if they’ve done procedures of that sort. But we’ve run into a dilemma. We have another dog, Mushu, who is also about 11 years old.. since we adopted her from the pound we really don’t know how old she is. She has poly-arthritis and we had to get a lot of tests done for her.. her bill actually came out to be 4 times the amount that we thought it’d be .. but what can we do right?
As I mentioned before, after Kali’s amputation, they found a tumor on her front right leg .. her vets had suggested we take it out surgically without amputation then maybe going through chemo. This 2nd surgery would be around$2500 & as much as I would love to be able to pay for that right now, we can’t :'( .. I told her vets that we have to save up for it since we just had Kali’s amputation and then paid for all of Mushu’s tests.. They’d like to take it out as late as next week but if we’re unable to do that, then they suggested to start chemo to slow down the growth and spread of the tumor ..
But with so many things I’m reading online, I’m completely confused…. I saw Dr. Dressler’s dog cancer download on the tripawds website … and was curious about that .. does anyone have any input on it? Or any advice on what you guys would do if you were in our situation?
A lot of Jerry’s fans on the Tripawds Facebook page have had some positive things to say about Dr. Dressler’s e-book. We found it very beneficial, especially when developing the best canine cancer diet. If your don’t receive much feedback here, ask in the forums!
Just wanted to make sure you saw what I wrote on Facebook…keep in mind that Dr. D does not advocate for one cancer treatment over another, but rather a “full spectrum” approach that incorporates the best of Western and Eastern medicine.
